ST. BEDE’S COLLEGE OLD BOYS
ANNUAL BALL Every year, during Grand National week, the St. Bede’s College Old Boys’ Association holds its annual ball which besides being the members’ most important social gathering of the year is also a big re-union of school friends, many of whom now live in the country. This year’s ball, held at the Winter Garden last evening, was a very happy, successful dance, attended bv about 400 guests. Guests who were specially invited were the rector of St. Bede's College (the Rev. Father J. A. Mannix, S.M.), members of the college, staff, members of the Marist Brothers staff, and representatives of the Marist Rugby Football Club (Mr J. O’Sullivan). Christ’s College Old Boys’ Association (Mr E. P. Wait), St. Andrew’s College Old Boys’ Association (Mr and Mrs Bryden Lane). Christchurch West High School Old Boys’ Association, Christchurch Technical College Past and Senior Students’ Association (Mr N. A. Fuller and partner), St. Mary’s Convent Old Girls' Association (Miss C. Bertram and partner). Villa Maria Old Girls’ Association (Mr and Mrs Power), Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions Past Pupils' Association (Mr and Mrs F. W. Brown), Sacred Heart College Old Boys’ Association (Mr Man Lawson), St. Patrick’s College Old Boys’ Association (Mr T. P. Moloney). St. Kevin’s College Old Boys’ Association (Mr P. Murray), St. Bede’s Parents’ Association (Mr and Mrs C. F. Milne), and Christ”hurch Boys’ High School Old Boys’ Association (Mr E. Munt).
Members of the committee were Messrs A. R. Corcoran (convener), R. Bradley and L. J. Mahar.
