Lancashire 279 (Mortimore 6 for 48). and 211 for one wicket, declared (Ikin 97 not out), drew with Gloucester 143 (Hilton 7 for 52) and 24 for no wickets. Warwickshire 375 (Spooner 101, Gardner 101), drew with Leicestershire 207 (Thompson 6 for 63) and 330 for five wickets (Jackson 119 not out).
Worcestershire 230 (Brown 5 for 56) and 257 for nine wickets, declared (Outshoorn 81), drew with Northamptonshire 235 for eight wickets, declared (Brookes 130 not out, Flavell 5 for 62) and 154 for five wickets. Kent 462 for nine wickets, declared (Fagg 220) and 31 for no wickets, drew with Nottinghamshire 589 (Keeton 142, Simpson 164). Essex 314 and 225 for three wickets, declared, drew with Sussex 314 (Sheppard 96) and 134 for five wickets.
Middlesex 277 (Edrich 118), drew with Glamorganshire 382 for four wickets (Clift 109, Parkhouse 115). Derbyshire 339 (Kelly 72, Trueman 6 for 59) and 111 for nine wickets (Appleyard 5 for 42), drew with Yorkshire 389 (Lowson 92, Wilson 120, Watson 108).
