21 WICKETS IN DAY
SOUTH AFRICAN XI AT SWANSEA .
(Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, Aufr.4. On a drying pitch, Glamorganshire and South Africa provided a series of sensations in their match at Swansea to-day. Wickets fell with bewildering rapidity on a pitch which was a paradise for spin bowlers. P. Mansell took five for 37 for South Africa, and A. Rowan polished off uie Glamorganshire innings, taking 3 for 6 in the last thrfee overs, giving him a return of 4 for 45. The last five Glamorganshire wickets added only 19 rU L S- B. Muncer (Glamorganshire) in 10 overs took three wickets for four runs, two wickets falling to successive deliveries. Muncer finished with 7 for 45. A. Rowan played a magnificent innings and saved South Africa from a rout. In little more than an hour he scored 49. including two sixes and six fours. Both teams made 111 in the first innings. In Glamorganshire’s second innings the score is 21 for one wicket.
