SHIP COLLISIONS IN PACIFIC

TANKER DAMAGED; TUG SUNK

(Rec. 8 p.m.) VANCOUVER. Aug. 4. Two collisions in the Pacific Ocean to-day badly damaged a 10.000-ton tanker, and sent a tug to the bottom. A third vessel radioed that it was rapidly sinking off the Alaska coast. The tanker Tullahoma collided with the 7600-ton freighter P. and T. Adventurer early to-day off the northern coast of Washington. One man aboard the Tullahoma was killed and three were injured. Planes and tugs were sent to assist the disabled tanker, which was reported to be helpless, and listing slightly with its engine room flooded. The P. and T. Adventurer was standing by to assist the Tullahoma, though the freighter herself had a hole in her bow and a flooded forepeak. In another accident, the tug Andre Foss, of Seattle, collided with another tug in bad weather in Greenville Channel, and sank. One member of its crew is missing.
