ANNIVERSARY OF HIROSHIMA
U.S. PLANES TO DROP’" WREATH IN CITY (Rec. 12.15 a.m.) TOKYO, Aug. 5. Fifty American Superfortress bombers will fly over Hiroshima to-morrow, and drop a wreath at the soot where the first atom bomb fell six years ago. The wreath will be dropped at 8.15 a.m. local time—-the time when the bomb was released. At the same moment, the “Bell of Peace" in the new city’s Peace Memorial Church will begin tolling. Ceremonies will be held throughout the day to rededicate Hiroshima to the cause of world peace.
