AMATEUR TITLE OF N.S.W.

WIN FOR KEITH PIX (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 9 p.m.) SYDNEY. August 5. A former Western Australian. Keith Pix, beat the title-holder, Harry Hattersley, 6 and 4, in the New South Wales amateur golf championship final at Manly yesterday. Pix won the Western Australian open title in 1946. and lost his amateur status two years later for allegedly accepting expenses to play in the Victorian open championship. He was reinstated after an appeal to the Royal and Ancient Club, St. Andrews. In time to play as an amateur in the McWilliam's wines tournament last March.

In yesterday’s final, Hattersley was in a sound position until he dropped the thirteenth and fifteenth holes with 6’s. Pix started a winning run at the twentyfirst. and was 4 up at the twenty-sixth.

CHRISTCHURCH CLUB
