Sir Donald Cameron, a former Mayor of Dunedin, arrived from Melbourne by air at Harewood yesterday morning. He will travel to Dunedin to-day, where he will begin his campaign as the National Party candidate for the Dunedin North seat at the General Election. Mr W. F. Young, District Engineer of the Ministry of Works, will visit Greymouth and Reefton on official business on Monday and Tuesday. Reference was made to the death of Mr F. Hutchings, a woodwork and building trades Instructor, by the chairman (Mr M. E. Lyons) at a meeting of the Board of Managers of the Christchurch Technical College last evening. Mr Lyons said that Mr Hutchings had a long record of service in the teaching of his trade. He was an outstanding tradesman and had a faculty Of imparting his knowledge to others. Mr J. M. Taylor, officer-in-charge of the textiles section of the Department of Industries and Commerce Wellington, has been appointed to the staff of the New Zealand Manufaotyrers’ Federation. This appointment has bgen mad? to meet the growing requirements of the garment marufactoring industry, and because of the number of snarialised. problems involved.
