ARMED MAN ARRESTED
(New Zealand Press Association) A party of Napier this afternoon surrounded and detained an armed man sleeping on a river bank near Taradale, about six miles from Napier. The man, Frederick Hemer Johnson, 25; appeared later this afternoon in the Napier Magistrate’s Court on a Charge-of linlawfully converting a taotofr vehicle, and. was remßndqd. for a week. . At the time he was. detained Johnson was armed with a small calibre repeater rifle and a quantity of ammunition.
