WESTERN AIR FORCES
STANDARDISING TO BE DISCUSSED (Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON, August 3. British. American, and Canadian Air Force chiefs are holding a fiveday conference in London to seek ways of strengthening all weapons and equipment and battle training methods to an extent which would allow any squadron to be switched to serve with any of the three Air Forces. Spare parts for jet aircraft would also be made interchangeable wherever possible. The standardising of radar and radio equipment is also being worked out. Full standardisation would greatly ease the Problems of supplying mixed AUied groups with radar. It would also enable the three Powers fully to pool their manufacturing resources.
