FOREIGNERS’ TREATMENT OF BRITISH
Sir.—The prompt reaction of the United States Army chiefs to their pressmen being pushed around by the Communists will bring nostalgic memories to those of us old enough to remember when one was proud to be British. As matters now stand, any gook, wog, or dago anywhere can with complete impunity humiliate or even murder a white, provided he is English and not American, and everyone just laughs and laughs. At one time the British Government would have sent a cruiser. Now it would send another note.— Yours, etc., „„„ ' SCOT. Greymouth. July 17. 1951.
