CORSAIR CLUB HOLDS SCRAMBLE MEETING The Christchurch Corsair Motor Club held a scramble meeting at Wright's Pam recently. There was a good attendance of riders.' Because of the snow the track was very slippery. After the third race It was under about two inches of mud and riders were fighting very hard to stay on their machines. Benke, from Ashburton, put up some remarkable times on an old machine. He recorded the fastest time of the day (3min 33see) for the seven.tenths of a mile course over three laps. In one race he was on a handicap of assec and won with ease. In five starts he gained three firsts. V. Rush put up second fastest time of 4min Ssec. All races were run in three laps. Results:— Two-stroke Race.—D. McLeod 1, PThackwell 2. P. Wells 3. Time, 4mln 45sec. Up to 350 c.c.—V. Rush 1, B. Whittle 8, P. Macgloughlin 3. Time, 4min ssec. 500 c.c — reaver 1, B. Harris 2, S, Burtt 3. Time. 4min JOeec. First Open Handicap.—Benke 1. S. Burtt 2, B. Harris 3. V. Rush Q. Time, 4min Ssec.
Second Open Handicap.—Benke (55sec) 1, P. Macgloughlin (25sec) 2. D. McLeod (scr) 3. Time, 3min 33sec. Third Open Handicap.—Benke I, R. Rushbridge 2, Feaver 3, D. McLeod 4. Time, 3min 33sec.
