The area is situated approximately 2 mi.es f ,om Ahaura on the eastern side of the Greymouth-Reefton Highway, and comprises all the exploitable timbtr within the forests between Callaghan’s Creek and the Ahaura River to a north and south line approximately 2450 links to the west of the southernmost corner of Section 2967. The timber resources of the area are believed to approximate 26 million board feet, and the sale conditions provide for its extraction over an extended period. The milling timber comprises the following species in approximattely the proportions stated: Rimu and Miro, 76 per cent; Totara and Kahikatea, 15 per eent.; Beech spp., 22.5 per cent. Tenders from Sawmillers who will undertake to supply sawn timber to South Canterbury or Dunedin localities will receive special consideration.
