PARLIAMENTARY DAY
(From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) A _ WELLINGTON, July 10. Another 11 speakers spoke in the Address-in-Reply debate in the House of Representatives to-day. Two Private bills, the Bank of New South Wales Amendment Bill and the Roman Catholic Bishops Empowering Bill, were given a second reading It was explained that the latter bill was necessary because of the illness of Archbishop O’Shea, and provided for a bishop to sign documents when the Archbishop could not.
Mr R. Semple (Opposition. Miramar), who has been ill, appeared in the* House to-day for the first time this session, but only for a brief period
The House adjourned at 10.35 p.m until 2.30 p.m. to-morrow, when Ministerial replies to questions will be debated. To-morrow evening the House will have before it a motion confirming the emergency regulations.
