TOKYO, July 4. A Communist Chinese newspaper in a leading article to-day said that the cessation of hostilities was merely the first step in the peaceful settlement of the Korean question. If the American and other governments taking part in the Korean war sincerely wanted to end the war, would conduct armistice negotiations, and would fulfil that task sincerely, then the negotiations would constitute an important step towards a peaceful settlement of the Korean question.
