WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FEDERATED FARMERS
Rangiora.—The following officer* were elected at the annual meeting of the Rangiora branch of the Women's Division of Federated Farmer,:—president, Mrs Gibson; vice-presidents, Mesdames Loffhagen, Sinclair, and Cruickshanks; secretary and treasurer, Mrs Bowman; assistant secretary, Mrs Nelmes; committee, Mesdames Hutchison, Rands, Ward, Hassall, Ayers. Fincham, and Hill; delegates to provincial executive, president, secretary, and one other. The Gibson Cup for most points in competition* during the year was won by Mrs Bowman and the prize for runner-up was won by Mrs Hutchison. Mrs Anderson reported on the meeting with Mrs Sayre, held at Canterbury Agricultural College, Lincoln. Motukarara.—Mrs H. J. O. Wagner pre sided at the twenty-first annual meeting of the Motukarara branch of the Women's Division of Federated Farmers. A satisfactory credit was shown in the balance-sheet. The two cups, one for flower and the other for general competition, were both won by Mrs H, A. Mil’er. The r ollowing officers were electedpresident, Mrs W. C. Miller; vice-presioents, Mesdames Stephens and D. Miller; secretary and treasurer, Mrs H. A. Mil’er; ass'stant secretary, Mrs J. Brown; com. mittee, Mesdames Wagner Newton, Joblin, H. R. Woods, Blanche, and J. Miller; delegates to provincial executive, president and vice-presidents; reporter, Mrs Wagner; in charge of competitions and exchange table, Mrs J. Brown and Miss Edna woods: auditor. Mr F. J. Miller.
Chorlton-Little Akaloa,—A report of the year’s activities was given by the president (Mrs Dale Marshall), who presided at the annual meeting of the ChorltonLittle Akaloa branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. During the year donations had been sent to the Community Chest. Housekeeper Fund, Crippled Children Society, and Leper Fund. Parcels had been forwarded to the sponsored Greek child. The Akaloa Domains Board, St. Luke’s vestry, school projector, and hall piano fund had also received support. Members had responded well to the CORSO knitting appeal The competitions held during the year resulted as follows: ,—knitting and sewing: Mrs Andrew Craw 1. Mrs Dale Marshall 2. Vegetables: Mrs R. G. Craw 1, Mrs Dale Marshall 2. Small bloom: Mrs R. G. Craw 1, Mrs R. M. Craw 2. Large bloom: Mrs R. G. Craw 1, Mis* K. Craw 2. Cooking and preserves: Mr* Salt 1, Mrs Andrew Craw 2. The following officers were elected:—patron, Mrs W. Craw; president, Mrs Douglas Waghorn: vice-presidents, Mrs Dale Marshall and Mrs Melville Kay; secretary, Mrs R. M. Craw; assistant secretary, Mrs C. R. Waghorn; committee, Mesdames R. N. Waghorn, R. G. Craw, and Miss Tui Marshall; advisory members, Mesdames D. R. Waghorn and R. N. Waghorn; delegates to provincial. president, secretary, and Mr* M. P. Kay. A general meeting followed, and it was decided to respond to the appeal for pillow cases to "Te Kiteroa,” and that donations to St. Luke's vestry be ear-marked for the renovation of kneelers.
