BIG FALSE PRETENCES CHARGES
(Rec. 9.30 p.m.) BRISBANE, April 16. When George Titley, an accountant, aged 47, appeared in the Brisbane Police Court to-day charged with false pretences involving £5OOO, the prosecuting sub-inspector said he was wanted in London on charges totalling 39,uu(j.
’cation for bail was refused, and Titley was remanded for a fortnight. The prosecutor said Titley absconded from liabilities in England and came to Australia, changed his name, and settled in a remote part of -Queensland. His wife had followed him, and was now in Sydney.
