RECRUITS FOR AIR FORCE
190 MAY ENTER CAMP NEXT MONTH
(New Zealand Preu Auociatton) AUCKLAND, April 16. The Air Force is going ahead with plans for another intake of 18-year-old recruits next month under the compulsory military training scheme. Unless the Government postpones training, about 190 youths will go into camp on May 19. Since training started last year, only Taieri, in Otago, has been used for Air Force intakes. Next month Hobsonville will take about 75 recruits for ground staff training in trades not hitherto included in the course. These are motor transport drivers and mechanics, fire-crew members, safety equipment specialists, coppersmiths, and sheet-metal workers. More than 100 ground staff recruits will go to Taieri next month.
