PAKISTAN FRIGATE’S VISIT
ROUGH CROSSING OF TASMAN (New Zealand Press Association)
WELLINGTON, April 15. The Pakistan frigate Sharnsher berthed at Queen’s wharf to-day. With the Sind, which is due to-morrow she is on a goodwill visit to New Zealand. The Sharnsher is a cadet training ghip and carries seven cadets who have done 18 months’ shore training in Karachi and are now having their first
sea trip. The Sharnsher, which was built for calm weather sailing, had a rough crossing from Australia to New Zealand. Lieutenant Ahmed, the duty officer, said that the cooks had had great difficulty in keeping their pots and pans on the fire. Some of the cadets were seasick. ~ The ships will stay four days in WelHngtpn and then go on to Auckland »r four days. From Auckland the frigates go to Brisbane.
