The weather lorecast for Canterbury Issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 17 hours after the time of issue, is:— Situation: a depression is passing south of New Zealand. Forecast: moderate south-westerly winds prevailing. Weather cloudy at first, with seme brief showers, skies clearing la’er in the day. Temperatures cool. Outlook for Tuesday: fair. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Moderate south-west winds. Weather eool and changeable, with occasional showers. Outlook for Tuesday: brief showers. - I CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weatner in Christchurch yesterday was fine and sunny. There was a light north-east wind. At midnlsht the sky was almost clear and there was a very light northerly wind. The barometer, at 27.525 inches (998.8 millibars), was rising.
