The Rev. D. D. Thorpe, vicar of St. Augustine’s Church, Cashmere, has been appointed chaplain for the New Zealand National Council of Churches to the next draft of displaced persons, who are expected to arrive at Pahiatua early next month. Mr Thorpe will remain at Pahiatua for two or three months.
