CHRISTCHURCH BEATS ELLESMERE DICKSON BOWL MATCH The Christchurch Bowling Centre’s fours beat the Ellesmere Sub-Centre’s representatives by 342 points to 280 in the annual match for the Dickson bowl at the Beckenham green on Saturday. Christchurch won the morning round by 187 points to 118, but lost to Ellesmere in the afternoon round by 155 points to 162. The Christchurch centre’s fours have won the trophy every year since 1940, when it was first contested. The match was the last important event of the bowling season.
