WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FEDERATED FARMERS

Christchurch.—A report on the number of parcels sent to England during the year was given by Miss Morrison at the annual meeting of the Christchurch branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. The following officers were elected:—president, Mrs A. E. G. Lyttle; Vice-presidents, Mesdames Denham and Wolff; secretary. Mrs Pearce; treasurer, Mrs Hogan; assistant-secretary and treasurer, Miss Morrison: committee, Mesdames Chapman, Porter, Lund, and Miss Morrison; trustees, Mrs Hogan and Miss Morrison.

Port Levy.—A talk on the founder of the movement (Mrs C. K. Wilson) was given by Mrs Hunter, who, with Mrs Kennedy, was a visitor from the Diamond Harbour-Purau branch at the annual meeting of the Port Levy branch of the Women s Division of Federated Farmers. The following officers were elected: president, Mrs G. Steele; vice-presidents, Mrs O. Williams and Mrs W. S. Coop; secretary, Mrs W. Grennell; treasurer, Mrs A. Kilian; advisory member. Mrs L. Field; competition secretary, Miss Noellne Richfield; bring and buy secretary. Miss Lillian Richfield. A flower competition, arranged for the meeting, was won by Mrs Kilian, with Mrs Williams second. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames J. Collis and W. S. Coop. Kaltuna.—Arrangements for members to attend lessons ifi floral art, to be held in Akaroa during May, were made at the annual meeting of the Kaltuha branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. Members decided to send a pillowcase to the rest home irt Waimate.' To enable members with young children to attend meetings, it was decided to hold evening gatherings for the next three months. The retiring president (Mrs Parkinson) and the secretary (Miss Betty Coop) were presented with flowers in recognition of their work for the branch throughout the year. The following officers were electedpresident, Mrs Henrv Hutt: vice-presidents, Mesdames Cyril Gray and Patten: secretary, Miss Betty Coop: assistant-secretary, Mrs R. Carleton-Bennetta.—The following officers were elected at the annual meeting of the Carleton-Bennetts branch of the Womens Division of Federated Farmers: president. Mrs Dewar; vice-presidents, Mesdames Harding and M. Skurr; secretary and treasurer, Mrs L. J. McKeagecommittee, Mesdames W. A. B. Reed, J. Wallis, E. Bennett, Tomlinson, Harding, Miss O Loughlin, and officers. Competitions for the month resulted as follows: Bowl of blue and pink flowers: Mrs X. Bennett, Mrs H. Reid and Mrs L, J. McKeage (equal) 1, Miss O’Loughlin 2, Mrs Dewar 3. Bponge; Mrs Wallis 1, Mrs Skurr 2, Mrs Bennett and Mrs*J. Farr •equal) 3. Three tomatoes: Mrs Farr 1. Mrs Jeal 2, Mrs Bennett 3. The trophy for the most points gained in the competlthroughout the year was awarded to Mrs Bennett.
