Forecast: light or moderate easterly to northerly winds and fogs, clearing early. Weather fine, with mild afternoon temperatures. Outlook for Saturday: fair. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Light winds. Weather fair to fine and mild. Outlook for Saturday: cloud increasing. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday Was fine and sunny, with a light northeast wind. The maximum temperature Was 64.5 degrees. At midnight the sky was clear, and there was a moderate north-east wind. The temperature was 55.6 degrees, and the barometer, at 30.115 in (1019.8 millibars), was falling.
