RELEASE OF WAR CRIMINALS
“ MARTYRDOM OF JEWS IGNORED” (Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON, March 5. The Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the British Commonwealth and Empire (Rabbi Israel Brodie), referring to the release of Nazi war criminals, said that Jews and citizens should protest at the sidestepping of moral issues, upon which the whole future and the very possibility of civilisation depended. He said the former Nazi enemy—morally guilty, cynical, and unrepentant—was now courted by the East and West and was being asked to consider rearming. This seemingly ignored the martyrdom of 6,000.000 Jews and many thousands of people of -other faiths in countries once occupied by the tyrant
