FORMING OF NET UNIONS

March 5 A number of inquiries have beea made about the formalities involved in forming new unions of waterside workers. This was stated by the Min. ister of Labour (Mr W. Sullivan) tonight. The Minister outlined the procedure to be followed in the formation of z union at any port and in an application for its registration under tha Industrial Conciliation and Arbitrate Act. A society should be formed com. prising not fewer than 15 waterside workers, he said, and this should forth with elect its officers and other members of committee of management and draw up a set of rules specifying purpose for which the society* wS formed and providing for other mat. ters laid down under sections 5 of the act.
