RED CROSS SOCIETY
HALSWELL SUB-CENTRE A successful flower show was held in the Hals well Hall last month in aid of the Halswell Sub-centre of the ded Cross Society. The show was opened by Miss M. Bowen, of England, who told of the wonderful work of the British Red Cross. Mr, J. McKenzie. chairman of the Halsweil County Council, and Mr Barnett also spoke.' An outstanding feature of the show was the childrens entries, which were of a high standard.' The 6MCT.YWX for most points in the show Was won by Miss M. Sunbeam, with Mrs C. Campion runner-Up. Other winners were as follows:—cut flower section: Mrs Baker. Decorative section: Mrs Chapmans special prize for childrens section: Janette Stevens.
