CEMENT WORKS CLOSE

TARAKOHE MEN IDLE (New Zealand Preet Association) . NELSON, February 26. The Golden Bay Cement Company’s works at Tarakohe closed this morning because of the waterfront dispute. Workers attended a meeting of their union/ which is affiliated to the Water-, side Workers’ Union, and decided to cease wotk. Since the waterfront dispute started no snips have worked the port *of Tarakohe, but some cement for the South Island has been lifted by road transport. With the closing .of the works these deliveries will cease. About 100 men are employed at the Tarakohe works.
