DISTRICT CHAIRMEN APPOINTED
MINISTERS’ STIPENDS TO BE INCREASED

The following chairmen of district! of the Methodist Church of New Zealand were appointed by the Methodist Conference to-night:-—Auckland, ths Rev. E. W. Hames; South Auckland, the Rev. S. J. Werren; TaranakiWanganui. the Rev. E. T. Olds; Hawke's Bay-Manawatu. the Rev. J. F Jack; Wellington, the Rev. G. Goodman; Nelson, the Rev. H. G. Brown; North Canterbury, the Rev. H. J. Odell; South Canterbury, the Rev. R G. Sherson; Otago-Southland. the Rev L. B. Neale: Solomon Islands, the Rev. J. R. Metcalfe. The conference to-day decided that in view of the rising cost t,f living th® stipends of ministers should be increased by 7J per cent, from the New Year.
