NEW LINER ON FIRE.—The 28,000-ton new Orient liner Oronsay on fire at Barrow-in-Furness, England. After 20 hours the fire was brought under control and the danger of the ship overturning averted. The Oronsay was due to begin her maiden voyage to Australia next March.
