STOCK REMEDIES
BILL SEEKS TO ENSURE GOOD QUALITY (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 9. The addition of a veterinary surgeon nominated by the Veterinary Services Council to membership of the Stock Remedies Registration Board is proposed in the Stock Remedies Amendment Bill, which was introduced in the House of Representatives to-day. The bill also contains provisions to ensure that biological products sold as stock remedies are of proper quality and are used under supervision in cases where precautions are necessary. Biological products include vaccines, serumfe, and hormones. After April 1, 1951, they must be manufactured by licensed persons in licensed premises, and records of their sale and disposal must be maintained. The oermission of the Minister of Agriculture is to be secured in cases where .hese products are imported.
