NAVY LEAGUE ESSAY PRIZE
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. November 8. Results of the Palmer Prize Essay competition for this year were announced to-day by the Wellington branch of the Navy League, as follows: Senior grade—Boy: Michael Rushton Bayley (Waitaki Boys’ High School, Oamaru). Girl: Cora Johnson (St. Mary’s College, Wellington). Intermediate grade—Boy: Jim Marshall (Waitaki Boys’ High School, Oamaru). Girl: Jillian Ruth Calver (Wanganui Girls’ College). Junior grade—Boy: Mervyn L. Harris (Waitaki Boys’ High School. Oamaru). Girl: Sally Co|ton (Shirley Intermediate School, Christchurch).
