TEMUKA "The Press” Special Service TIMARU, November 7. The values for the few prime cattle in the 70 head offered at to-day’s stock sale at Temuka appreciated sharply, cows In some instances up to £5 a head, and steers to a lesser, degree. The yarding of store cattle was a very large one, but graziers were loath to pay the high rates ruling at recent sales, and a few pens were passed in. Values for quality sheep, in the small number yarded, also appreciated, in some cases 5s to 7s a head.. The bulk of the store sheep entry was made up of twotooth wethers, and a keen inquiry from farmers held values on a high level. Values were:— Fat Cattle.—Fat steers, extra prime heavy, £37 to £42 7s 6d; medium, £26 to £29 2s 6d; light, £22 to £25 17s 6d; fat heifers, extra prime, £35 to £39 12s 6d; medium, £23 to £26 17s 6d: light, £lB to £22; fat cows,, extra prime heavy, £26 to £29 17s 6d; prime, £24 to £25 12s 6d: medium, £2O to £23 17s 6d; light, £l4 to £18; inferior, £lO to £l4; store and dairy cattle, bulls to £l3 15s; mixed sex yearlings, £lO to £ll 12s 6d; two-year-old steers, £l3 to £lB 12s 6d; dairy cowa, to £l6 10s.

Fat Sheep.—Fat wethers, extra prime heavy, 65s to 66s Id; prime, 58s to 625; medium, 54s to 57s 10a; light, 52s 4d to 53s lOd; fat. ewes, extra prime heavy, 45s to 50s; prime, 42s 6d to 44s lOd; medium, 37s to 425; light. 33s 7d to 36s lOd; fat lambs, best to 535. Store Sheep.—Wether hogget* (shorn), 38s to 525.
