VOTIVE LAMPS FOR WAR DEAD
VATICAN CITY, November 3. Pope Pius to-day blessed votive lamps which the mothers of six nations, on opposite sides during the war, will keep burning by the graves of war dead throughout Europe. Later Italian, French. German, British. American, and Indian mothers, all of whom lost sons in the war. met to exchange lamps. The Italian mothers will keep watch by the lamps at American, British, German, and French graves in Italy while their own lamps are tended at Italian war cemeteries in Britain, France, Germany, and the United States. The Pope received about 1000 members of this unusuil pilgrimage at ar audience in the Vatican’s Consistorial Hall
