The weather forecast for Canterbury issued at 9 p.m. bv Meteorological Offce, Wellington, and dealing wnh the 24 hours after the time of issue, is: Situation: a depression is north of New Zealand, and anti-cyclones are to the east and south-west of the South Island. Forecast: light to moderate north-east winds predominating; weather fine, with moderate to mild day temperatures. Outlook: fair. The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is: Fine.
