HIGHER AIR FARES IN AUSTRALIA
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, November 4. Air fares and air cargo rates within Australia have been increased, but no addition has been made to fares or cargo rates between New Zealand and Australia. Tasman Empire Airways, Ltd, announced this ■ to-day. Passenger fares in Australia have been raised 16 per cent, and cargo rates by 11| per cent, as from Monday last. Tickets for which payment was made before midnight on October 26 for travel after October 30. however, will be honoured at the old rates. This condition applies also to cargo assignments.
