MISS WILLIAMS WINS SPRINT
MISS HARDMAN BEATEN (New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, Nov. 5. Miss Yvette Williams, British Empire Games women’s broad jump champion, provided a major upset in the 75 yards women’s A grade scratch race at the Otago Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association’s meeting at Dunedin on Saturday. Competing against two other Empire Games athletes, Miss b S. Hardman, the New Zealand champion, ap d Miss C. Malone, of Auckland, Miss Williams ran into a strong wind and won a £rom H>rdman in 9Jsec. Miss Malone was third.
