CHILD SAVED FROM DROWNING
LYTTELTON MAN’S PROMPT ACTION (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 4. Prompt action by Mr Neil McCormack, of Lyttelton, assistant to the well-known Templeton trotting trainer. W. J. Coates, saved an infant from drowning in the Waiwetu stream, Lower Hutt. The men were leaving the Hutt Park course following training activities when Mr McCormack’s attention was drawn to the youngster in the water by a child standing nearby. He brought her to the bank and applied artificial respiration for fifteen minutes. The child responded to the treatment, and her father said to-day that she was none the worse for her experience.
