CHINESE TROOPS
Intervention In Korea
(N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) (Rec. 1 a.m.) TOKYO, Nov. 3. Communist China gave every indication to-day of preparing for fu 1-scale intervention in the Korean war.
Thousands of Chinese troops already are fighting the United Nations forces in Korea and more are crossing from Manchuria daily. The Chinese leaders have not yet void the Chinese people that Chinese troops are in action in Korea, but Chinese Communists have thrown the full facilities of their vast propaganda machine into a furious campaign to whip up popular support for Chinese intervention. , The extent and tenor of the campaign indicate that the Chinese President, Mao Tse-tung, and his cohorts intend to make a still greater contribution to their North Korean comrades.
Diplomatic quarters in Tokyo are keeping an anxious eye on the situation and are looking to Lake Success to take cognisance of this new development. Well-informed quarters say that General MacArthur also is watching the situation closely.
