HALLOWE’EN PARTY
A Hallow-e en party, complete with black cats, bobbing apples, buns, ghosts, spiders, witch’s cauldron i.id a life-sized witch, was held last night by the Christchurch branch of the League for the Hard of Hearing in the league's room, in “The Press" building. There was a large attendance of members who entered into the spirit of the party and greatly enjoyed the-programme. Mr A. A. Harrison was master of ceremonies and conducted community singing. Songs were sung by Miss Dorothy Barnes, violin solos were Slaved by Miss Joyce Tibbles, with lias Fay Palmer as accompanist, Mr E. Moon gave an exhibition of magic, and elocutionary items were given by Misses Billee Armstrong. Ingrid Husheer, Edna Neville, and Grace Green. Miss Frona King, brandishing her broom, was a great success as the witch. Games and competitions completed the programme.
