G|Y LYRIC MAY WIN AGAIN ” Gay Lyric, which had a convincing win in the Silverstream Handicap on the opening day of the Wellington Trotting Club’s spring meeting at Hutt Park last Saturday, will be in demand in the Sharpe Handicap on the final day of the meeting to-day. The Gamble colt has had three wins and two placings in his seven starts this season. His winning run has not ended, ano he should take a tight mark this season. Most opposition may come from Inquisitive Lady, a winner at Greymouth, and the- Aerogord-Trouville bracket. Aerogard wilt appreciate the mile and a quarter journey, and she rhould race well. Maori Queen and the *rand Fleet bracket may do best of the others. The high-priced Hillsborough was paraded in good order by A. J. Motz last week, and he may return to the winning list te-day. He was slow to move in the Discovery Handicap last week, but he w?s finishing on at the post. He lost his chance in the Silverstream Handicap When he was mixed up in an accident after making a splendid start. A high opinion was held oi him When he raced in the North Island, and he should not be long in winning. The fields are of similar strength to those of the first dty. but the addition of a number of freah horses will add interest. The track is expected to provide good going. The doubles totalisator will operate on the Port Nicholson and Taita Handicaps.
