COMPETITIONS BEGUN AT WILDING PARK The Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association’s first grade and second grade mixed .competitions for the 1950-51 season began with matches among 20 club teams at Wilding Park on Saturday. Results:— First Grade (Section I) Woolston beat Waimairi by 10 matches to 6: South Christchurch I beat Beckenham by 9 matches to 7; St. Mary’s beat Elmw’ood I by 10 matches to 6; Cashmere I beat Shirley by 9 matches to 7. First Grade (Section II) Elmwood II beat Cashmere II by 12 matches to 4; St. Albans beat South Christchurch II by 13 matches to 3: St. Martins Valley beat Barsington by 10 to 6; Phillipstown beat St. James' by 12 matches to 4; Addington beat Sumner by 9.matches to 7. Second Grade (Section I) Redcliffs beat Avonside Church by 10 matches to 6.
