TABLE TENNIS

HIGH STANDARD AND CLOSE SCORING A high standard of play among the visiting Canterbury players and close scoring marked the table tennis matches between Canterbury and West Coast at Greymouth on Saturday, although Canterbury won by the wide margin of 26 games to two. A notable feature of the
matches was the defeat of V. Rollerson, West Coast singles title-holder, of Christchurch, by R. Harris, of Grey mouth, 21-11, 30-22. and 24-22, in the men’s singles match. The only other game won by the West Coast was in the combined doubles, when T. Keown, of Hokitika, and Miss G. Hahn beat B. Thome and Miss N. Thomson, of Canterbury. 21-15, 20-22, 21-13.
