WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FEDERATED FARMERS
Oxford.—The president (Mrs W. J. Skurr) presided at the September meeting of the Oxford branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. Members decided to send £5 to rest homes and £5 to the North Canterbury housekeeper fund. During the afternoon a spring fashion parade arranged by Mrs Dudley Chisnall was much enjoyed. Mannequins who took part in the parade were Mesdames W. R. Johnstone, E. W. Knowles. I. Bangford, Misses Yvonne Garlick, Shirley Burrows, Glenice Fantham, Margaret Laws, Teresa Garlick, and Roama Fantham. Two songs were* sung by Miss T. Connolly. Competitions for the month resulted as follows:—polyanthus: Mrs M. W. Johnson 1, Mrs T. Mehrtens 2, Mrs P. Englebrecht 3. Decorated basket of flowers: Mrs Dunstan 1, Mrs Weston 2. Bottled vegetables: Mrs T. Judson 1, Mrs W. R. Johnstone 2 and 3. Leeks: Mrs T. Gundry 1, Mrs F. Baxter 2, Mrs Graham 3.
