PHILIPPINES VOLCANO
ERUPTION KILLS 51 PERSONS MANILA, September 15. Fifty-one persons were killed and 27 seriously injured by an eruption of the Hibok volcano, on Camiguin Island, off the northern coast of Mindanao, in the Philippines. This was reported today by the Red Cross. Three naval vessels have been ordered to stand by for the mass evacuation of the inhabitants of Camiguin Island, if necessary. The Red Cross reported that three villages were threatened by falling ashes.
