PLEASANT POINT u The Press" Special Service TIMARU, September 18. Fat cattle appreciated fully 10s a head at to-day’s sale at Pleasant Point, 60 being yarded. Included in the offering were some outstanding beasts. Three full races of fat sheep met a sustained inquiry from local butchers and northern interests. Values, quality for quality, were on a par with, those at the Temuka sale a week ago. The few store sheep offered met a keen demand. The majority of the store cattle penned were passed at auction. Values were:— Fat Cattle.—Fat steers: best heavy, £35 to £42 2s 6d; good, £3O to £34 17s 6d: medium, £26 to £29 17s 6d; light, £22 to £24. Fat heifers: extra good, £24 to £32 7s 6d; medium, £2O to £23 17s 6d; light. £l5 to £l9. Fat cows: best, £l7 to £22 17s 6d; medium, £l3 to £l6 17s 6d; light, £lO to £l2 17s 6d. Store Sheep.—Ewe hoggets, 68s to 735; wether hoggets, 59s to 61s 6d; four-tooth wethers, to' £3. Fat Sheep.—Wethers: prime woolly, 96s Id to 102 s Id; prime medium woolly, 85s Id to 92s 4d; light, 75s Id to 79s Id; prime shorn, 62s 4d to 66s Id; light to medium shorn, 57s Id to 60s Id. Ewes: prime woolly, 74s Id to 80s 7d; prime medium woolly, 68s Id to 71s 4d: light woolly, to 62s 4d; prime shorn, 46s Id to 48s Id; light to medium shorn, 38s Id to 42s 4d.
