AIR RAID ON NORTH
MOSCOW RADIO REPORT
(Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 16. The Moscow radio said to-night that American heavy bombers to-day raided the North Korean capital of Pyongyang, “subjecting it to a most ferocious bombardment.” The radio said that the attack lasted five hours and caused extensive loss of life among the civilian population as well as the destruction of many private dwellings. U.S. TROOPS THROWN INTO FIRE TOKYO, September 15. Three American soldiers were thrown into a roaring fire by their North Korean captors on the night of August 31, it was discovered during United States 2nd Division investigation in Korea to-day. The Americans Were captured when the enemy overran an advance command post. A number of witnesses told the Army Inquiry. Board they saw their fellow soldiers thrown into a roaring firp, apparently built for that purpose. „ One man tossed into the flames appeared to be wounded badly because he made no effort to get out. The second man pleaded with his captors, so thev hit him and threw him in. The third man was heard to scream with pain when tossed into the fire.
