OXFORD-TO-THE-SEA
Sir, —In reply to “Farmer-Cust,” it is a wonder that those thousands in favour of the Oxford-to-the-sea scheme did not turn up at the meetings held by the’ Catchment Board to give the board their support. It might be of interest to mention that in the area claimed to be flooded, eroded, etc., meetings have been held to augment an irrigation scheme. I am not in favour of either, and I am prepared to take wet and dry seasons as they come. Canterbury has never let us down.—Yours, etc., WEBB FEET. OHOKA. September 6, 1950.
