COMPLAINT OF FAILURE TO NEGOTIATE (Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.)
(Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. fl. The continued refusal of thp British Broadcasting Corporation to negotiate with trade unions over wages and other agreements was strongly attacked at the Trades Union Congress conference. Mr Tom O’Brien. M.P., general secretary of the National Association of Cinematograph and Theatrical Employees described the 8.8.C.’s attitude as “lamentable and indecent.” He said that 12 unions directly interested had set un a committee to arrange an organ’s : ng campaign among 8.8. C. workers. A member of thi« committee. Mrs Jean Currier, said: “We feel it is high time the Government put its own house in order in a publicly-controlled undertaking.”
