FRONTIER OF JUGOSLAVIA
COMMUNIST TROOPS CONCENTRATED
(Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 6. About 16 divisions of troops assembled by Russia, Bulgaria, and Rumania on the Jugoslav border for joint manoeuvres are being retained there although the manoeuvres have officially ended. Reporting this, the diplomatic correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says the troops are concentrated in a forbidden area 19 miles deep. Four of the divisions are Russian armoured units and four more are motorised groups. There are also three infantry divisions and one armoured division supplied by Rumania and Bulgaria. At the same time the Hungarian Government is reported to have received instructions from the Cominform to equip eight of its divisions with modern arms.
