FORMOSA ON U.N. AGENDA
ACTION BY RUSSIAN DELEGATE (Rec. 8 p.m.) NEW YORK, Aug. 28. Mr Jacob ..Malik (Russia) has placed the question of Formosa on the agenda for the United Nations Security Council meeting to-mor-row. The Soviet Union apparently wants to demand that the United States should withdraw its 7th Fleet from Formosan waters. The Council hitherto has been dealing only with the Korean war. Mr Malik, as this month’s President, has power to place any item on the provisional agenda, but the Council itself must decide whether it will agree to dicuss Formosa at this stage.
